Mid Fife and Glenrothes MSP Jenny Gilruth swapped politics for pizza making and cheese-cutting among other supermarket duties when she took part in a work shadowing event at Sainsbury’s Leven.
Ms Gilruth was invited along to the store to learn more about the work carried out both on the shop floor and behind the scenes.
She said: “It was a pleasure to meet and shadow staff at Sainsbury’s Leven, which is one of my constituency surgery venues. From my visit it is clear that all staff work very hard to ensure their customers consistently receive excellent service.”
Tracy Robinson, Counters Manager at Sainsbury’s Leven said: “We were delighted to host Jenny Gilruth for the day, and it was great to showcase the wide range of skills our colleagues here have to offer.
“Our business is constantly adapting based to suit the changing needs of our customers, so learning and development for colleagues is as important as ever in order to continue delivering great customer service.
“I know our colleagues were happy to share tips they’ve learnt during their time with Sainsbury’s and Jenny was a quick learner!”
