MOTION TO CONGRATULATE KENNOWAY ON COALFIELDS COMMUNITY FUTURES PROGRAMME PARTICIPATION

Published date : 18 Jul 2017

Jenny Gilruth MSP has lodged a motion (S5M-06739: “Kennoway Chosen for Coalfields Community Futures Programme”) asking the Scottish Parliament to congratulate the village of Kennoway on being selected to participate in the Coalfields Community Futures Programme run by the Coalfields Regeneration Trust.

The motion text reads:

“That the Parliament congratulates the village of Kennoway in Fife on being chosen to take part in the Coalfields Community Futures programme by the Coalfields Regeneration Trust; understands that the programme will provide expertise, direct hands-on support and funding to Kennoway to work with residents and groups to prepare a five-year community action plan, with further support also available to make funding applications for larger-scale projects; acknowledges that a participatory budget of £20,000 is available to the community for “soon, seen, successful” initiatives, which will enable priority projects to be funded and demonstrate their success; welcomes the support given by the trust to coalfield communities across Scotland, and hopes that the futures programme will prove to have a positive impact and legacy for the community in Kennoway.”
