MSP to Hold Broadband Surgery

Leven’s MSP, Jenny Gilruth, is holding a broadband advice surgery with Digital Scotland Superfast Broadband. The MSP’s office has recently been inundated with constituents from the Castlefleurie area as residents are struggling with poor internet connections.

The MSP has arranged a drop-in meeting with broadband experts from Digital Scotland Superfast Broadband (DSSB), who will be on hand to give detailed information to locals regarding when they will receive high speed internet as part of the Scottish Government’s is pledge to deliver Superfast Broadband to 100 per cent of homes and businesses in by the end of 2021.

Residents and business owners are invited to the event at Leven Scout Hall, Montrave Crescent on Thursday 5th July at 4pm to 6pm to be given direct advice on their individual broadband concerns and receive information on alternative solutions.

Commenting ahead of the surgery, Jenny Gilruth MSP said:

“While broadband connectivity is ultimately reserved to Westminster, The Scottish Government made a manifesto commitment to roll out superfast broadband across the whole country by 2021. Fast and reliable internet is fundamental for future economic success - we need more businesses in the Levenmouth area - having access to superfast broadband is essential for the communities I serve.

“A number of constituents, especially from the Castlefleurie area, have been in touch with my office regarding their broadband speed. This event will offer local people the chance to speak directly to DSSB. The advice surgery is open to the public on a drop-in basis and residents and business owners are welcome to attend”.

Notes: Information flyer on the event is attached.
