GLENROTHES MSP WELCOMES NEW MARKS & SPENCER STORE

Today (Friday) Glenrothes MSP Jenny Gilruth paid a visit to the new M&S Foodhall in Glenrothes, which officially opened on Wednesday.

The new store employs 45 members of staff, including Manager, Ryan O’Donovan, who met with Jenny Gilruth MSP to give her a tour of the new store. Commenting after the visit, the town’s MSP said –

“It was great to have a chance to see around the new Marks and Spencer Foodhall in Glenrothes. This investment from M&S is welcome – it will pull people into Glenrothes town centre, which is desperately needed.

I am hopeful that this commitment from M&S will encourage other big retailers to consider Glenrothes as a business base – we need more variety in the town and this new development offers real opportunities for that to happen’.

Store Manager Ryan O’Donovan added –

“Since opening on Wednesday, we have welcomed thousands of members of the community through our doors and already received lots of positive feedback on the store’s offering, from our extensive food to go items, Valentine’s products and our Click and Collect service for those ordering on M&S.com.

“We’re really enjoying getting to know our new customers and we were delighted to welcome the town’s local MSP, Jenny Gilruth, into store on Friday. It was a great opportunity for our team to share more about their roles and how our first few days of trading have been. It was also a great chance for us to share more about the work we’ll be doing with our local Charity of the Year, children’s cancer charity, Love Oliver.

“It’s certainly been a busy start for the new store and with Valentine’s Day just around the corner, it shows no signs of slowing down but we wouldn’t have it any other way! For those who haven’t made it along to visit us yet, we look forward to welcoming you in store soon.”

The new store is located at The Henge Retail and Leisure Park, Glenrothes Town Centre, KY7 6GH and the opening hours are Monday – Saturday 8am-8pm and Sundays 9am-6pm
