GLENROTHES MSP WELCOMES LOTTERY FUNDING FOR LOCAL CHURCHES
Glenrothes MSP, Jenny Gilruth, has welcomed news that St Paul’s and St Mary’s Church has been awarded a huge £80,823 from the Big Lottery Fund Scotland.
The funding will allow the church to refurbish its hall and stage for the benefit of local Auchmuty residents.
It is hoped the planned refurbishment will not only make the church hall more accessible for existing users, but also create an opportunity for future community groups, such as a junior choir, to thrive.
Ms Gilruth has lodged a motion to the Scottish Parliament to celebrate the church’s funding grant. (A copy of the motion is noted at the foot of this email).
Commenting, Jenny Gilruth MSP said:
“St Paul’s and St Mary’s Church provides a hub for a number of community groups in the Auchmuty area. It’s great news that this substantial funding grant will allow the church to refurbish their hall and stage for the benefit of local residents.
“I would delighted to see more community groups take advantage of the new facilities once the refurbishment has been complete.
“I look forward to meeting with members of the Church Group at an event to be held in the Town celebrating Glenrothes’ 70th anniversary this Sunday.”
