GLENROTHES MSP CONGRATULATES FAMILY FUN DAY
Published date : 17 Jul 2019
Glenrothes MSP Jenny Gilruth has offered her congratulations to the organisers of this year’s Family Fun Day at Gilvenbank Park.
The event, which was run by North Glenrothes Community Council in conjunction with the 89th Fife Scouts, Go Glenrothes and Fife Migrants Forum, was a huge success due to the large turnout on the day.
The town’s MSP spent the afternoon meeting with volunteers, community group members and youngsters participating in the fun activities.
A wide range of raffle prizes were donated from local community organizations such as vouchers for Gilvenbank Hotel and Kettle Produce, a chauffeur driven cinema price and tickets to the Royal Yacht Britannia.
Commenting, Jenny Gilruth MSP said:
“The annual North Glenrothes Community Council Fun Day is an important part of the local community. I admire the huge effort that keeps the event going every year.”
“The children there on Saturday had a great time, and I wish for the continued success of the Family Fun Day – these types of events are ones that children will remember for the rest of their lives.
“I am grateful to everyone who played a part in the smooth running of the afternoon, and to all the local organisations that generously donated prizes for the raffle draw.”
Denise Wallace, from North Glenrothes Community Council added:
“The NGCC Family Funday on Saturday 13th July was an amazing afternoon. We were delighted to see so many of our regular stall holders plus some new ones. The NGCC tombola took in almost £170 and our raffle took in nearly £500. Although dubious and threatening at times the weather was kind to us!
“We were delighted that Jenny was able to attend to draw our raffle along with 2 of our local councillors. This event is a much supported and anticipated afternoon for the residents of North Glenrothes and surrounding areas”
