Motion -Suzi and Paul Hamilton, Poppyscotland Fundraisers

Publised date : 31 Oct 2018

Motion Text:

That the Parliament congratulates the Markinch couple, Suzi and Paul Hamilton, on raising £1,918 each for a Poppyscotland appeal to mark the centenary of the end of the First World War by holding book sales and raddles, as well as selling off their handmade wooden items from their own business, Ottersburn Wood; notes that the money was also raised with the help of Lodge Balgonie; understands that Suzi’s great-grandfather served during the First World War, while her grandfather fought in the Second World War; further understands that her grandmother’s cousin, James, died in 1945 when his plane was shot down during a mission over Germany, and that Paul’s grandfather, John, was a Normandy veteran, and wishes Suzi and Paul the best of luck with their future fundraising efforts.
