Motion - Strollers Win National 5s Tournament

Publised date : 27 Apr 2018

That the Parliament congratulates Glenrothes Strollers FC on winning the national 5s tournament for the first time; notes that, after almost four decades, the team is the first Disability Sport Fife member organisation  to win a top honour in the open section at any national football championship; praises its players, Lloyd Simpson, Cameron Page, Steven Anderson, Stephen Young, Daniel Henderson and Robert Anderson, on finishing on 12 points and winning the tournament on goal difference after one of the closest finishes in the history of the championships; believes that this achievement is a fitting reward for a club that has made a significant commitment to football over many years for players with additional support needs; applauds the coaching team and the commitment throughout the club to inclusive practice, and wishes everyone at the Strollers the best of luck.
