Title: GoFitba Inspires Young People to Get Fit and Active

Motion Text:

That the Parliament commends Glenrothes Strollers on its new energetic programme, GoFitba, which is helping young people in the town make both exercise and healthy eating their goal; notes that it has been set up by the Scottish Football Partnership Trust to help children from disadvantaged areas learn about the benefits of a healthy diet and get physically active; understands that it has been running for more than two months and has seen a definite improvement in the children, not just in their footballing ability, but also with their attitude toward what they are eating by learning about the foods that will help them in sport and at school; acknowledges that, as well as football, they have also learned about the differences between natural and processed foods and what products are best for a healthy and balanced diet, and wishes the GoFitba project continued success with its goals.
