'Glenrothes Heat' Visit to RWE Markinch
It was great to meet staff at the RWE Markinch Biomass site on Tuesday 15th August 2017. The Scottish Government is directly supporting the "Glenrothes Heat" district heating project with £8.5m investment from the Low Carbon Infrastructure Transition Programme.

Scottish Growth Scheme Launch at CelluComp Glenrothes
On Friday 16th June, it was great to visit CelluComp with Derek Mackay MSP in Glenrothes for the Scottish Government announcement of support for business through the Scottish Growth Scheme and the Scottish-European Growth Co-investment Programme. The growth scheme is a £500million funding package aimed at supporting businesses in Scotland to grow.

Levenmouth Rail Campaign Petition Handover
A fantastic achievement for the Levenmouth Rail Campaign on Thursday 1st June 2017. A petition of 12,506 signatures was handed to the Transport Minister Humza Yousaf MSP at the Scottish Parliament. Great to be joined by David Torrance MSP and to have cross-party support.

Great start to the day with the Hansard Society Scholars on Thursday 1st June on their visit to the Scottish Parliament. Lots of interesting questions on Scottish politics and my time in Parliament, covering topics such as the SNP, Brexit and the upcoming General Election. On Thursday 25th May, I was privileged to be the guest of honour at the Rotary Club of Glenrothes Awards Ceremony, and to present awards to the young winners of many local awards. A brilliant evening.

It was National Digital Learning Week from Monday 15th - Sunday 21st May. The week celebrates how digital technology can have a positive impact on education and learning, and encourages teachers and learners in all age groups to try using digital technology for learning.

Mental Health Awareness Week runs from Monday 8th to Sunday 14th May. I'd encourage all constituents to be aware of the need for good mental health and to talk about these issues openly, so that we can help reduce the stigma and get people the support they need and deserve.
Robot Relaunch of Cadham Pharmacy
On April 28th, I had a great afternoon at the Cadham Pharmacy re-launch with the fantastic Bernadette and her amazing team. A new robot has been installed with support from the Scot Gov's Prescription for Excellence pilot scheme. I was honoured to have my name on the plaque.
Supporting the Scrap Tax on Child Support for Domestic Abuse Victims campaign
On Tuesday 25th April 2017. I was happy to give my support to my colleague Angela Crawley MP and her campaign to scrap tax on child support for victims of domesic abuse - another SNP MP fighting callous Tory austerity targeted at the most vulnerable.
Pupils Q&A with Fife Gingerbread & Childcare Minister
On Friday 28th April, I took part in a Q&A session with pupils from Parkhill Primary School at Fife Gingerbread with Scottish Government Childcare & Early Years Minister Mark McDonald MSP and David Torrance MSP. The event was part of the open-day celebrations marking a year since Fife Gingerbread moved to the Greig Institute in Leven.

Visit to A Life Explored
On 21st April 2017, I visited the headquarters of A Life Explored, a care service based in Glenrothes which runs three care homes in Fife for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds who cannot live with their families. A great opportunity to discuss these issues with people who have had first-hand experience caring for young people.
On 20th April 2017, I was proud to join my MSP colleagues and campaigners at the #ScrapTheRapeClause demo outside of the Scottish Parliament. We should all unite against this inhumane and disgraceful policy.
IPPR Skills Debate
On Wednesday 20th April, I was delighted to participate in a cross-party debate hosted by IPPR Scotland at Dynamic Earth on the future of the Scottish skills system.

Easter Surgery Tour
Easter was a fantastic opportunity to meet constituents across Mid Fife & Glenrothes, as I embarked on a special surgery tour event on Monday 10th April. I travelled around meeting local constituents from Kennoway, Windygates, Leslie, Coaltown of Balgonie, Thornton and Stenton. A great experience.
Fighting Chance Project Visit to Parliament
On Tuesday 28th March 2017, I was delighted to welcome the Fighting Chance Project to Parliament with my colleague Shirley-Anne Somerville MSP, to promote the Yellow Belt Challenge. Young people from 11-23 years who have experienced hardship can participate in the program, which encourages the central values of judo—which to help young people realise their potential.

I was proud to support WWF's Earth Hour 2017 on Saturday 25th March. All across the world, people stopped appliances and lights in their homes to reduce their energy consumption. A great initiative to demonstrate the need for climate change action.

On Friday 10th March, I was pleased to attend the official opening of Levenmouth Academy, as opened by Deputy First Minister and Education Minister John Swinney MSP. The new school replaces Buckhaven High and Kirkland High and has had fantastic investment from the Scottish Government.

On Monday 6th March, I had a great time meeting the apprentices at Diageo in Leven for Scottish Apprenticeship Week. It's fantastic to see these talented young people get such great on-site experience.

Meeting Glenrothes Marie Curie Fundraisers
I was so pleased to meet with members of the Marie Curie Glenrothes Fundraising Group on 5th December 2016 over a cup of tea at Robertson Fine Art Cafe to learn about the vital work they do to raise money to help care for people with terminal illnesses and their families. Last year alone more than £10,475 was raised in Fife.
World Aids Day 2016
On Thursday 1st December 2016, I was pleased to meet with HIV Scotland CEO George Valiotis and community activists Cathy Crawford and Stephen Duffy in support of World Aids Day. The event aims to encourage people all over the world to remember the 35 million people who have died worldwide from AIDS-related illnesses, to prevent new cases of HIV and to stand in solidarity with people living with the virus.

As well as managing the woodland they rightly campaign for better protection for woods and trees. Informative visit given my remit as a fairly new member of Environment, Climate Change & Land Reform committee.

On Tuesday 13th September 2016, I visited Levenmouth Foodbank with David Torrance MSP to see first-hand the work done by volunteers and to hear from organisers the issues being faced by those using their services.
Supporting the Hampden Snore
On 7th September 2016, I was delighted to add my support to the #hampdensnore taking place on 30th September. For one night only, people can SleepOut pitch-side at Hampden and help Bethany and Street Soccer prevent homelessness in Scotland. Every penny raised from the eventwent to Street Soccer and Bethany in this legacy event from the Homeless World Cup in July 2016.

On Monday 29th August 2016, it was great to meet Naseem and the team at Dears Pharmacy Glenrothes today. The pharmacy are the Scottish finalist in the Royal Pharmaceutical Society I Love My Pharmacist competition.
Kingdom FM Local Hero Awards 2016
The KingdomFM Local Hero Awards were held on Friday 26th August. There was a fantastic showcase of some of the most caring and inspiring individuals from across Fife. I was delighted to see awards go to deserving people. It was great to be there for the lifetime achievement award being presented to my predecessor, the Right Honourable Tricia Marwick. She had no idea she would be receiving an award - keeping it a secret was no mean feat! A fantastic night!
Peekaboo Nursery Visit
On Friday 26th August 2016, I attended Peek-a-boo Nursery in Markinch to present them with a cheque for £500 from Kingdom FM for their winning entry in this year's hippo completion. Well done to the boys and girls who took part and my thanks to the staff for all the hard work they do.
Homelands Trust Visit with Stephen Gethins MP
On Friday 26th August 2016, I visited Homelands Accommodation in Lundin Links with Stephen Gethins MP. Homelands provide fantastic luxury accommodation in an idyllic location by the coast (see the views from my pictures!) for those with disabilities. It was a privilege to meet with Jan and Kimberly.

On Friday 26th August, I met with Marie Curie in Glenrothes. It was awe inspiring to hear about the crucial work they do in palliative care to support individuals and families.
Diageo Leven Visit
On 23rd August 2016, I was delighted to welcome Cabinet Secretary Keith Brown to my constituency yesterday. We visited the Diageo Packaging Plant at Leven, which employs almost a thousand people from in and around Levenmouth. It was great to get the chance to meet with staff and be shown round the plant.
Glenrothes Art Club
Good to get along to the Glenrothes Art Club annual exhibition on Saturday 6th August 2016. The club marked its 61st year in 2016. The exhibition was a fantastic display of local talent at the Rothes Halls.
Queensferry Crossing
On Friday 29th July 2016, I visited the new Queensferry Crossing with Transport Scotland. It was a fantastic experience and I am indebted to the staff who took the time to take us out on the Forth, accompany us onto the platform and right up to the top of the North Tower. An awesome end to the week with views across the beautiful Kingdom of Fife.

On 26th July 2016, I visited Dovecot Park bowling club who were hosting weekly fun days for children throughout the summer. A great opportunity to meet volunteers and members, and also to try bowling out for myself.
Opening of Greens Markinch with Tricia Marwick
On Sunday 3rd July 2016, I was delighted to open Greens Markinch with my predecessor, Tricia Marwick, former MSP for the Mid Fife & Glenrothes and former Presiding Officer of the Scottish Parliament. A huge congratulations to Harris and the team: the new shop looks great and will be an excellent addition to the town.

On 21st June 2016, it was fantastic to meet pupils from Lundinmill Primary School in Holyrood. I was extremely impressed by their political knowledge - a few aspiring MSPs in my midst I am quite sure! It was also lovely to see Mrs Urquhart, the Headteacher and Mrs Mowat, the Primary 7 teacher, who I met in 2013 through my work at Education Scotland. A really great school with insightful pupils & talented staff.

On Saturday 4th June I popped along to North Glenrothes Community Council's Family Fun Day at Gilvenbank Park. A brilliant day and a chance to speak to Friends Of Glenrothes Foodbank (with delicious cakes!), Guide Dogs Scotland and Glenrothes Aeromodelling Club among others.
Leven Prom Fest
On Sunday 29th May, I was in Leven for the Prom Fest event organised by Leven Community Council. It was great to catch up with their chair, Ali Suttie, who I know has worked so hard - along with his team on the community council to make today such a success. Well done to all involved in organising and to the many businesses and local organisations I had the privilege to meet - particularly The Lemon Tree - Leven, Methil and District Sea Cadet Corps and volunteers from the MS Society Fife Branch. A great day for Leven.
GoGlenrothes Johnny Cash Drawing Competition
Great to get along to the GoGlenrothes Johnny Cash drawing competition on Saturday 28th May 2016 - a superb amount of artistic talent on display. Really looking forward to finding out who will be successful - particularly as Rosanne Cash is involved in the judging process. Best of luck to all entrants!
Visiting Home-Start in Glenrothes
It was great to meet the fantastic team at Home-Start in Glenrothes on Friday 27th May 2016 - a brilliant organisation which works to help support families.
First Constituent in Parliament
On May 23rd 2016 I was delighted to meet my first constituent in Holyrood on, Mr Ron Page, Chairman of North Glenrothes Community Council, local champion and - like me - a former Modern Studies teacher! Really looking forward to working with Ron and supporting our local community councils across Mid Fife & Glenrothes.
Congratulating Watson's of Leven
On Monday 16th May 2016, it was great to get along this morning to meet Rab Watson of Watson's of Leven, to congratulate them on winning the Scottish Black Pudding championships. Managed to collect some to sample myself.
Fife Science Festival 2016
On Saturday 14th May 2016, I was delighted to attend the first Fife Science Festival at Rothes Halls in Glenrothes. A fantastic event.
Sworn in as MSP for Mid Fife & Glenrothes
On 12th May 2016, I was officially sworn in as the MSP for Mid Fife & Glenrothes. Being elected by the people of Mid Fife & Glenrothes was an enormous honour.
