Published date : 18 Dec 2020
Rimbleton Primary School pupil, Ella Yu (aged 10) has been crowned the winner of local MSP, Jenny Gilruth’s, annual Christmas card competition.
This year’s competition theme was ‘Community Heroes at Christmas,’ with a number of the designs including rainbows to acknowledge our incredible key workers who have helped to keep our communities safe during this year.
Jenny Gilruth MSP visited Rimbleton Primary School on Friday to present Ella with a certificate and a copy of her winning card design, socially distanced outside the school.
Commenting after the visit, the MSP said:
”I was blown away by the amount of talented designs my office received for this year’s competition.
”In a year like no other, judging this year’s Christmas card competition brought a real ray of light and it was brilliant to see all of the designs which recognised our local community heroes.
”Ella did an absolutely fantastic job on her winning design, and I want to extend my thanks to all pupils in the Additional Support Department Green Room who took part in this year’s competition.”
Rimbleton Head Teacher, Andrea Gordon, added:
”I was delighted that Jenny asked pupils from Rimbleton to take part in her Christmas card competition this year.
”The kids in the Additional Support Department Green Room were all very keen to take on the challenge and created some fantastic designs!”
