LOCAL MSP VISITS LOTTERY FUNDED AUCHMUTY HOLIDAY CLUB
Mid Fife and Glenrothes MSP Jenny Gilruth was delighted meet with children, youth workers and volunteers at the new Auchmuty Holiday Club recently.
The summer activity club was recently given the green light with support of the Big Lottery Fund Scotland and the Our Place Auchmuty project.
Hard working volunteers, based at the Lomond Centre, offer a wide range of fun activities and games for school children aged 5 to 12 during the summer, October and Easter breaks.
Commenting on her visit, Jenny Gilruth MSP said:
“It was great to visit the Auchmuty Holiday Club recently and see the positive impact Big Lottery funding is having in the local area.
“The club is a real boost for families in the area, keeping kids active, busy and healthy over the summer break with a host of fun activities.
“The volunteers and youth workers at the club have been incredible to get the project up and running – I hope to see continued funding support for the club and would be pleased to see more groups like this popping up across the constituency in the near future.
JP Easton, Fife Council Team Manager (Community Development) added – “ This is a great project and one element of the Auchmuty Our Place initiative. The Big Lottery Funding is allowing us to test out and develop the Auchmuty Holiday Activity Club. The Club receives great support from local volunteers, Friends of Warout and Auchmuty & Dovecot Area Tenants & Residents Association and CLD staff.”
