Jenny Gilruth Visits New Holiday Destination in the Heart of Fife
Fife MSP, Jenny Gilruth, was delighted to visit new tourism hotspot, Wigwam Holidays, this week, just outside Leven.
Nestled within the grounds of the Montrave Estate, the 250-acre site offers glamping accommodation for guests in eight en-suite deluxe Wigwam cabins as well as woodland walks, luxurious hot tubs and a functioning on-site farm. The site had its official opening last month.
Last year, Scottish tourist attractions had more visitors than ever before with over 30 million visitors passing through their doors. The increase in tourism has helped create a booming accommodation market with a 18.99% increase in visitors staying in self-catered accommodation in the Kingdom since 2016.
Owners Nick and Airin Gilmour were delighted to welcome to local MSP. Mr Gilmour commented:
“I am very happy to be able to welcome Jenny to Wigwam Holidays Montrave Estate, the project has taken over a year to put into place and will benefit the local area with additional tourist accommodation and as a destination for holiday makers to Mid Fife, it is great to have the support of our local Member of the Scottish Parliament.”
Jenny Gilruth commented:
“Scotland’s booming tourism industry is worth over £6 billion annually to the economy. While it’s no surprise that visitor numbers continue to rise across Scotland, I believe that more could be done to attract people to our beautiful part of Fife. The positioning of the Montrave estate provides a unique vantage point across Levenmouth and the East Neuk. It’s great to see a new business celebrating all we have to offer in the Leven area.
“I wish Nick and Airin the best of success and I look forward to seeing more tourist destinations promoting Leven and the surrounding area in the future.’
