Jenny Gilruth MSP Holds Spring Surgery Tour
Local MSP, Jenny Gilruth was delighted to take her regular open surgeries on the road last Friday (23rd March), travelling her constituency of Mid Fife and Glenrothes to meet with constituents.
Ms Gilruth paid visit to Leven, Upper Largo, Lundin Links and Windygates during her tour – meeting with locals who raised a number of issues, ranging from housing matters and street repairs through to the condition of Lower Largo Pier (which is causing concern for many constituents).
Since her election in 2016, the MSP has held regular surgeries in Glenrothes, Markinch and Leven.
However, in a commitment to remain accessible to constituents with limited mobility or transport – the MSP has held a number of surgery tours over the past two years.
Commenting, Ms Gilruth said:
“I very much enjoy getting out and about in my constituency and meeting as many people as possible. It is vitally important that I make it as easy as possible for constituents to contact me and that is why I try to visit as many places, and speak to as many people, as possible.
“During the tour, I was disappointed to find improvements to Leven’s bus station remain incomplete, especially as local businesses have been forced to close while the work is carried out. I have written to Fife Council requesting a full update on the delay.
“I would encourage anyone in the local area, who needs my assistance, to come and speak to me or to contact my constituency office to arrange an appointment.”
“I hope that by travelling to new locations I will encourage more constituents across Mid Fife & Glenrothes to get in touch and discuss their issues with me.”
