Published date : 16 Dec 2016

Mid Fife and Glenrothes MSP Jenny Gilruth has congratulated new Levenmouth councillor, Alistair Suttie who took victory for the SNP on Thursday evening with 1,501 votes.

Mr Suttie, who lives in Leven and has chaired the town’s community council for four years, takes over from former SNP councillor Ally Hunter who has moved to Australia.

Ms Gilruth said: “I am absolutely delighted for Alistair who I know will make an excellent councillor for Leven, Kennoway and Largo and I look forward to working with him in his new role.

“I would also like to praise all the dedicated activists who worked so tirelessly throughout Alistair’s election campaign to ensure the SNP retained the seat vacated by Ally Hunter who represented the ward for almost a decade.”

Mr Suttie said: “I am both honoured and humbled to be elected and my top priority is to work hard to promote ward 22 and to ensure Fife Council delivers the best possible services for the area.”
