MOTION TO CONGRATULATE YMCA GLENROTHES

Jenny Gilruth MSP has lodged a motion (S5M-06210: “Congratulations to YMCA Glenrothes”) asking the Scottish Parliament to congratulate YMCA Glenrothes on securing funding from the Big Lottery Fund Scotland to run a support initiative for homeless people.
The motion text reads:
“That the Parliament congratulates YMCA Glenrothes on securing £147,354 in funding from the Big Lottery Fund Scotland; understands that YMCA Glenrothes will use this funding to support up to 300 homeless people and 36 volunteers at The Y Social Skills Academy through in-house training and learning opportunities, with support primarily aimed at 16 to 30-year-olds to boost independence and self-esteem; welcomes the support of the Big Lottery Fund Scotland for local charities and community groups throughout Scotland; commends YMCA Glenrothes on its efforts, and wishes the projects and volunteers at The Y Social Skills Academy every success in their work to tackle homelessness and support homeless people in the Mid Fife and Glenrothes constituency.”
