WITNESSES URGED TO COME FORWARD FOLLOWING GLENROTHES SCOUT TRAILER THEFT
Published date : 22 Nov 2016
Mid Fife and Glenrothes MSP Jenny Gilruth is urging anyone who may have information about the theft of a Glenrothes scout group’s trailer to get in touch with the police.
The trailer, belonging to the 91st Scout Group, went missing from its base at the Jubilee Centre in Stenton on Wednesday 9 November.
Ms Gilruth said: “Whoever has stolen this trailer has selfishly deprived over 60 youngsters of a valuable, well-used resource as I know the trailer was often used to store tents and camping equipment during regular scout trips.
“What makes it worse is that the trailer was only recently purchased following a dedicated fundraising effort. I would urge anyone in my constituency who knows anything about this incident to get in touch with the police immediately.
Police in Fife have launched an investigation into the theft, stating that the trailer carries the registration plate P331FES.
Anybody with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 or the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
